If you have
an urgent medical problem, you may make a "same-day" appointment with our
"on-call" doctor who can deal with your urgent problem.
If our
"same-day" appointments have been filled and you have a very urgent need
to see a doctor, you may "walk-in" and wait. We will try our very best
to double-book you into our doctor's schedule.
When you walk
in to the clinic and request emergency consultation.
You will be
assessed by one of our nursing staff immediately and arrangement
will be made to see a physician depending on the degree of urgency.
Call our
emergency number 2859 1999
and request a campus visit.
The UHS provides
on-campus visits during UHS opening hours for medical emergencies.
When our physician provides an emergency on-campus visit for one
hour, he/she will be unable to provide care to 7 patients during
that time. Please use this service for real emergencies only,
i.e.:
- When the
patient is in such a condition that he/she cannot walk or be
transported physically to the clinic.
- When there
is an accident resulting in serious injury. In such case, apart
from calling UHS, calling 999 for an ambulance for direct transfer
to hospital is advised.
- When the
patient is unconscious. Again, apart from calling UHS, calling
999 for an ambulance for direct transfer to hospital is advisable.
Outside
Office Hours
Members are
advised to attend the Accident & Emergency Departments of nearby
hospitals.
Some private
doctors may provide consultation in the evening.
Many private
hospitals also provide emergency consultations.
