The main medical benefits provided for HKU staff is the University Staff Medical Benefits Scheme (in-house scheme).
Over the years, additional medical plans have been introduced, such as voluntary medical insurance plans and self-pay plans.
The operation of the University Staff Medical Benefits Scheme (in-house scheme) is administered by the UHS.
The Human Resources Office (HRO) is responsible for other additional medical plans. The UHS helps with processing
of some of those additional medical plans, but not all of them.
