Aim
Promote and maintain the health of University Members during travelling.
Services
- Travel health consultation and advice, with recommendation on vaccinations and prophylactic medications on malaria and high altitude syndrome. Vaccinations and medications are prescribed at a charge.
- This service is NOT applicable for overseas exchange programme requiring medical certificate and vaccination record.
- For medical certificate and immunization record, please consult your doctor. A charge will be applied if done in UHS.
Booking
Make an appointment well in advance.
Appointments are limited, especially near peak travel times (December, before Spring Break, before Summer Holiday)
Please book and attend Travel Health Service at least 3 months before departure:

- For University organized group travelling, please send email to: uhshe@hku.hk for arrangement.

After your booking, you are required to submit the Travel Health Questionnaire (Require HKU Portal log in). Fax to UHS 2540-6643 or send email to uhshe@hku.hk within 5 working days to complete your booking.
On the day of consultation:
Please bring your:
- Travel Health Questionnaire
- Vaccination record if available
Please arrive 15 minutes before the registration time.
Important Notes
When preparing for overseas trip, you are strongly advised to check the specific health advice, vaccination and medications requirement according to your Destination from Traveller’s Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
** Yellow Fever Vaccine **
In Hong Kong, Yellow fever vaccine is only available in the Travel Health Centres, Department of Health.
Yellow fever vaccination certificate is an international vaccine certificate required for entry into certain countries. It takes 10 days to provide good protection after vaccination. Adequate time should be reserved for vaccination before departure.
Countries with risk of yellow fever transmission and countries requiring yellow fever vaccination can be found on WHO website.
